How to Convert FAT32 to NTFS Without Formatting and Losing Data file

You have flash drive an external drive that currently use has FAT32 file system, you want to change this option to NTFS Because FAT32 Don't Support handling large data file (More than 4 GB) you don't want to lost your data file.


Now go to Computer and noted the name of the drive which on file system you want to convert. click on the Start.

If you use Windows XP, click on Run and then execute cmd, Win 7, Win 8 and Windows Vista just click satrt up write the cmd in search box



Now write in cmd box "chkdsk h: /K" where H is the letter of the drive to undergo conversion. This checks the drive for errors and fixes them automatically.


Now write in cmd box "Convert H: /FS:NTFS" H is one’s again the letter of the drive to be converted. The command prompt will start the conversion process and wait after a few minutes, after CMD will say that conversion was successful.


Now you can check it in the properties, Right click on the drive and click on properties.
